Assertiveness and Confidence Building

Recognising confident and insecure behaviours, your own barriers to confidence, increased self- awareness, assertiveness and practical ways to increase confidence.

Basic Counselling Skills-Counselling skills for non counsellors

This course is accredited by the Open College Network and is eligible for Open College credits.

Open College credits are awarded at four levels from Entry Level to Level Three with Level Three learning being equivalent to learning at NVQ Level Three.Each credit awarded recognises the successful achievement of units within an OCN approved programme of learning.

The course will run over a six week period.

  • What are counselling skills? (The core conditions, counselling skills models, fundamentals of the helping process and use of skills).
  • Skills Practice.
  • Conversation management and time keeping.
  • Developing clear boundaries and structure.
  • Ethical issues, the limitations of the use of counselling skills and the need for support.
  • Self-awareness.
  • Enabling change
