Improving Child and Family Arrangements (ICFA)
ICFA is a short-term, court-ordered service provided in private law cases. It focuses on four key outcomes for families:
How Does ICFA Work?
The ICFA service is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each family. It incorporates learning from the Separated Parents Information Programme and takes place over a few weeks. Activities may include:
- Meetings with parents, together and/or individually, to resolve issues and prepare them for spending time with their children.
- Direct work with children to help them feel ready and comfortable about spending time with the parent.
- Observing time spent between the parent and child in various settings, such as a contact centre, home, or community.
